John Moore, Chief Coach of Sedgefield 75 SC, has been awarded a  Lifetime Achievement Award at a Community Awards ceremony in Newton Aycliffe.  John was presented with his award by the local MP, Phil Wilson.

John would like to thank all those involved and said that it takes more than one person to successfully run a club like Sedgefield 75 SC and they too deserved recognition for their hard work within the club.

The club have also been celebrating Cara Lawson's nomination as British Junior Long Distance Swimmer of the Year. Cara will receive the award on the 8th March at the Association’s dinner. Cara receives the award in recognition of competing 19 miles in open water over the course of the season, including completing Derwent Reservoir and Coniston. Cara consistently finished in the top 3 and was the top girl in the British Long Distance Swimming Association’s Grand Prix.
