Mark Bromby and Ann-Marie Blowman, both employed by Hull Leisure as Trainer/Assessors for Lifeguarding, have been awarded the George Henry Taylor Trophy. The Trophy is for Outstanding service to the Hull and East Yorks Branch in 2007.
Mark and Ann-Marie were recognised at the Branch AGM for the work that they did with youngsters in Hull following the severe flooding that hit the City in June 2007. They took the Get Safe 4 Summer campaign and added various bits to it, to occupy about 300 children throughout the summer holidays. They took it further and at the half term holidays introduced "Stay Safe", a continuation and development of the original concept. They averaged between 50 and 60 kids per day, having fun, being safe and learning Life skills.
