North East swimmers won a number of medals at the first finals session of the asa national Championships, held in the new Picton Pool in Liverpool.
Jo Jackson (Derwentside) took top honours in the Women's 200m Freestyle with Jemma Lowe (Borough of Stockton) also gracing the top of the podium in the Women's 100m Butterfly. Chris Cook (City of Newcastle) was second in the Men's 50m Breaststroke and there were bronze medals for Andrew Mayor (City of Newcastle) in the Men's 200m Butterfly, Deborah Hall (City of Sheffield) in the Women's 200m Breaststroke and Aimee Willmott (Middlesboro) in the Women's 200m IM.
