The ASA have appointed a number of County Swimming Co-ordinators (CSC's) across the Region to facilitate delivery of the ASA's strategic objectives. They will work with all the main partners within their area such as clubs, facility operators and local authorities to enable more people to enjoy swimming and to achieve their personal goals. There is a senior CSC in each Region who will mentor and manage the CSC's in their area.
Their key tasks will be to build commitment to the Government's Free Swimming initative, provide support and guidance to partners to achieve their locally set aims for swimming, and to work towards a culture change in encouraging more people to swim more often.
Within the North East Region, there are two senior CSC's: Di Wilson (also covering Tees Valley) and Gemma Ripley (also covering South Yorkshire).
The CSC's by area are:
Northumberland - Jenny Glossop
Tyne & Wear - Kate Smith
Durham - Duane Newton
North Yorkshire - Jane Roche
West Yorkshire - Vicky Norman
Humber - Zoe Howe
