North East Voluntary & Community Sector Awards

The North East Voluntary and Community Sector Awards

Do you know someone under 26 who is an unsung hero? Maybe someone doing the right thing in difficult times, or someone who is a campaigner and a voice for the sector? We want to make a special award to a young leader who has made an exceptional contribution.

Leaders can come from any walk of life - we want to recognise those who have made an exceptional contribution, whether by bringing people together round an issue, working on a project or helping support an organisation.  They might be working with a team, but they will certainly be inspiring others and making a real difference through their own leadership skills.  They could be winning through in the face of adversity, leading by example, or an innovator.  They might be empowering - the kind of person who supports and develops other people to take on more.  Or maybe they are a visionary, who spotted an opportunity or a need, prevented disaster, or created a new future for a project.

If you think this description sounds like someone you know, or even yourself, then tell us, including:

  • What makes them special?
  • What did they deliver?
  • What difference did it make?
  • How do they energise, encourage and motivate people around them?

Make a nomination now >>

Nominations close 18th September 2009.
